Offered for auction is a PARTIAL  SET of
29 SEARS, ROEBUCK  & CO. STEREOVIEWS.  The original set contained 50 stereoviews.
The stereoview scenes showed the following: various offices, storerooms, a large number of interior views of Sears plant showing the most interesting activities, the movements of merchandise through Sears institution, including Sears freight packing, out freight departments, mailing, printing, Sears train shed and railroad track system, engine rooms, interior stereoviews of Sears various buildings, including the Administration, General Merchandise, Printing and Power buildings, stereoviews of Sears grounds and park system outdoor views showing our people coming to and from work etc.
This  Set of Sears Lithograph Stereoviews consists of the following.  The original set produced  between 1904 and 1908 contained 50 different numbered stereoscopic scenes with titles and description on back.
This set as offered includes 29 Sears stereoviews.  All  stereoviews have a titled back with description of the scene.  Below I have listed the number and title of each of the stereoviews offered for auction along with additional  photos in ad below.

Mr. Sears Note on the back of No 1 is as follows:
First I want to extend to you and your friends a most cordial invitation to visit our institution if your should every visit Chicago or be passing through our city.
I regret it is impossible for me to meet every one of our customers face to face and know them personally; yet our relations with hundreds of thousands, though separated by many miles, have been so pleasant and satisfactory that I feel I almost know them as neighbors, and should we meet, they would be almost as willing  to grasp me by the hand as I them.
I regret, too that all our customers cannot with their own eyes see the place where their orders are filled and see the people who do  the work, how they do it and how they are directed.
For the benefit of all those who cannot, at least for the present, see us and our institution and to whom we have not had, and possibly may never have, the pleasure of extending the right hand of good fellowship, thus affording me the great pleasure of  face to face thinking you for your favors and your confidence, these fifty stereoscopic views have been gotten out that you, in your own home, may have a little insight into the ways we do our business and the place in which it is done.  Of course, we could continue this into hundreds of different views, but we hope that these fifty will give you a general idea of our place

The stereoviews are in very good to better condition. Some may have minor soiling from normal usage.  Some toning from usage on the white frame as photo shows.  They vary from good to very good and anywhere in the middle as photos show.   I have taken numerous photos showing the stereoviews.   The may exhibit minor ware or soiling from usage, most are very good or better. Please view photos for condition.
