    Since 1992, an International Festival of Arts "Slavonic Bazaar" has been held annually in Vitebsk. This state sponsored "Slavonic Bazaar" is the Republic's top musical event - a pop and folk music festival with representatives from most all of the slavonic nations participating.
    Festival paper money called "Vasilki" has been made available for use in the restaurants, bars, canteens and other commercial establishments, which attend the "Slavonic Bazaar". This relieves guests and participants alike, from the worries of figuring rate of exchange and other problems associated with the exchange of their national currency for Belorussian rubles.
