    Description

Stereoview photograph (small cabinet size) of a small town on a river, probably in Massachusetts or perhaps Maine, circa 1870s to 1880s. No photographer or publisher identified. The untitled view shows the buildings of a village or small town set by the edge of a river or inlet. There’s a church and a couple of larger buildings to the left. But there doesn’t seem to be any development along the waterfront—no docks or buildings on the water. The area in the foreground looks like it could be marsh land. This reminds me of Cape Cod—maybe Harwich, Dennis, Barnstable, Bourne or Falmouth. It could be Maine or some other location in New England. The stereoview is in good or better condition with light wear and soiling. Note the rubbing and bumping at the corners. The photographs exhibit good or better tonal range and show good or better detail. A very nice coastal New England town view image!
